Body
RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended Council approve the 11th Amendment of the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) 2022-154 establishing appropriations in the amount of $975,000 for Fiscal Year 2023 for Station 12 Design and Engineering.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In May 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to The Taylor Group for the Design and Engineering for Fire Station 12 in the amount of $975,000. An approved contractual amendment of $10,000 was subsequently executed on June 16, 2022.

Due to an early year-end close in the latter part of June, the appropriation allocated for the contract was not encumbered prior to close of Fiscal Year 2022 and accordingly, a re-appropriation of the allocated funds is necessary to pay the contractor in Fiscal Year 2023.

BACKGROUND

In Fiscal Year 2022, City Council approved $975,000 in funding for design and consultant work for the future site of Fire Station 12 and awarded a contract to The Taylor Group. The contract was dated May 22, 2022, and an addendum was approved on June 16, 2022, adding $10,000 for additional services.

Due to an oversight as Fiscal Year 2022 was closing, the encumbering (utilization) of the appropriations did not occur prior to the close of the accounting closure of Fiscal Year 2022. This resolution re-appropriates said funding into Fiscal Year 2023 in order to satisfy the City's payment obligation to the Taylor Group for work performed in June and July 2022.
