RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve an agreement for professional engineering services with Precision Civil Engineering, Inc. of Fresno, California for $275,150, with a $27,515 contingency, for design and construction support services for the Ashlan Avenue Westbound Widening Project from Polk Avenue to Bryan Avenue and authorize the Capital Projects Director or designee to sign the contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The City is proposing to widen westbound Ashlan Avenue between Polk Avenue and Bryan Avenue, which will provide the ultimate complete streets build-out with an additional westbound lane, Class II bicycle lanes, sidewalks and streetlights and fill in the gap between the developer's improvements on Ashlan Avenue. The subject consultant agreement, in the amount of $275,150, with a $27,515 contingency, will facilitate the design and construction support services necessary to complete the project. The design phase of this project is funded by local funds - New Growth Area Major Street Impact Fee funds.
