RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council approve a First Amendment to the professional consultant agreement with Stantec Architecture, Inc. (Stantec), to provide additional design and engineering services necessary to replace the Department of Transportation's Administration Building's HVAC equipment, and expand network and security requirements (the Facilities Improvement Project), increase the agreement amount by $105,077.75, and authorize the Director of Transportation or designee to execute all related documents.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Department of Transportation/FAX seeks an amendment to the existing professional consulting agreement with Stantec for additional design and engineering services necessary to support the Facility Improvement Project, at a cost of $105,077.75, for a total contract value of $1,113,067.99. This Project will provide improvements to the bus wash, entry gates, vaulting operations, solar generation, fire alarm systems, and increase the efficiency of the staff parking lot.

BACKGROUND

FAX entered into a consultant agreement with Stantec on April 19, 2018, to provide design and engineering services for the Facilities Improvement Project. The scope of the project includes improvements to the existing facilities located at 2223 G Street. The scope of work included upgrades to the fire alarm system, new fare collection, expansion of the existing bus wash area, replacement of end-of-life equipment in the bus wash, entry gate reconfiguration, electric bus charging...
