RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends approval of an agreement for Professional Engineering Services with Kittelson & Associates, Inc., for $199,905 for the Systemic Safety Analysis Report Program to evaluate the roadway networks within the City of Fresno and to allow the Public Works Director or designee to sign the agreement on the City's behalf.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The roadway network in the City of Fresno is in need of a systemic safety analysis. This analysis is a proactive safety approach that reviews crash history, identifies high risk roadway characteristics and prioritizes countermeasures across the system. The City of Fresno applied for and awarded a State of California grant in the amount of $225,000 to fund the development of a Systemic Safety Analysis Report Program. The subject consultant agreement will facilitate the research and analysis necessary to complete the project.
BACKGROUND
The City of Fresno Public Works Department has identified a need for systemic analysis of the roadway network within the City. On March 17, 2016 the Council of the City of Fresno approved Resolution No. 2016-281 authorizing the submission of an application for grant funds from the California Department of Transportation 2016 Systemic Safety Analysis Report Program Call for Applications.
