Approve an agreement for Professional Engineering Services with TJKM of Pleasanton, California in the amount $85,410 with a $5,000 contingency for the design and construction support services for the Midtown Fresno Multimodal Interconnectivity Project (Council Districts 1, 3, and 7)

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an agreement for professional engineering services with TJKM for $85,410 with a $5,000 contingency for the design and construction support phases of the Midtown Fresno Multimodal Interconnectivity Project and authorize the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno (City).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This Midtown Fresno Multimodal Interconnectivity Project will increase walkability and improve bike infrastructure with the addition of three traffic signals near three schools in the Midtown area: Anthony Elementary, Heaton Elementary and Muir Elementary. The major intersections along the route to each of these schools are in need of signalization to increase route walkability and bike infrastructure for students and their families. These intersections have met pedestrian traffic signal warrants and are included on the Citywide traffic signal priority list. The project is funded by a grant through the Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered through the California Transportation Commission and the California Department of Transportation. The subject consultant agreement in the amount of $85,410 with a $5,000 contingency will facilitate the design and construction support services necessary to complete the project.
