1. CALL TO ORDER  
Chair Derrick called the meeting to order at 10:39 a.m. Of the 6 members 5  
were present.

2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA  
On motion of Vice Chair Reyes Acosta, seconded by Dhillon, the  
above Agenda was APPROVED. The motion carried by the following  
vote:

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES  
Approval of the Disability Advisory  
Commission Minutes from October 8,  
2024  
On motion of Dhillon, seconded by Vice Chair Reyes Acosta, the  
above Minutes were APPROVED. The motion carried by the following  
vote:

4. MEMBER REPORTS AND COMMENTS  
Member Coulter reported that on Saturday, 11/16 is Valley Deaf Festival at  
the Fresno Fairgrounds from 10am-4pm. Member Reyes Acosta stated that  
there is a joint meeting on Friday, 11/15 at 10am in Long Beach City Hall  
regarding Public Utilities Commission.  
5. DAC SECRETARY AND ADA COORDINATOR REPORT  
Nothing to report.  
6. UNSCHEDULED COMMUNICATION / PUBLIC COMMENTS  
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons desiring to address the subcommittee  
on matters not on this agenda. Your presentations are limited to three minutes per  
person. Please be aware that the subcommittee is generally legally prohibited from  
taking any action on information presented in unscheduled communication until  
subsequent meetings.

7. ACTION ITEM  
DAC Awards Final Update  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa announced that the DAC Awards were  
presented at the City of Fresno City Council meeting to those who were  
nominated. It was a privilege to present these awards to such dedicated  
and committed individuals.  
ADA Coordinator asked the Commission for their input/thoughts regarding  
streamlining the DAC Awards process. The Commission was in agreement  
to streamline the process so that it's less cumbersome. Creating a task  
force to come up with ideas is a great start.  
There was much discussion along with great ideas among the  
Commissioners. The Commission agreed to bring the topic back in  
February 2025 to discuss further.  
Upon call no public comments were received.  
On motion of Villarreal, seconded by Chair Derrick, the above Action  
Item be CONTINUED for discussion at the February 2025 meeting. The  
motion carried by the following vote:

Evaluate DAC Mission and Purpose  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa reviewed with the Commission the following  
documents:  
1. Vision and Mission Statement  
2. DAC Bylaws  
3. Goals & Objectives  
The Commission came up with some great ideas regarding the DAC Vision  
and Mission statement in addition to goals and objectives. The DAC  
Commission is not well attended as in previous years. The Commission  
suggested reaching out to the public, organizations and previous DAC  
members to get ideas in increasing more participation.  
Joe Hinojosa will email the documents out to the Commission for review  
and comments. This topic will be added to the January 2025 meeting for  
further discussion. The Commission would like Joe Hinojosa to reach out to  
the Mayor's Office to get input on specific goals they want the Commission  
to work towards in terms of ensuring citizens with disabilities continue to  
have equal access to resources and services.  
Upon call one public comment was received.  
On motion of Villarreal, seconded by Chair Derrick, the above Action  
Item be CONTINUED for further discussion at the January 2025 DAC  
Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote:
