1. CALL TO ORDER  
Chair Derrick called the meeting to order at 10:40 a.m. Of the five members  
three were present. Vice Chair Reyes Acosta arrived at 10:46 a.m.

Chenier Derrick, and Reynaldo Villarreal  
Excused 1 - Birdevinder Rickie Dhillon  
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA  
On motion of Villarreal, seconded by Coulter, the above Agenda was  
APPROVED. The motion carried by the following vote:  
Aye: 4 - Coulter, Vice Chair Reyes Acosta, Chair Derrick and  
Villarreal  
Excused: 1 - Dhillon  
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES  
Approval of the Disability Advisory  
Commission Minutes from March 11, 2025  
On motion of Villarreal, seconded by Coulter, the above Minutes were  
APPROVED. The motion carried by the following vote:  
Aye: 4 - Coulter, Vice Chair Reyes Acosta, Chair Derrick and  
Villarreal  
Excused: 1 - Dhillon  
4. MEMBER REPORTS AND COMMENTS  
Board Member Coulter announced that she will be resigning from the DAC  
Commission. Her last meeting will be May 13, 2025. She served on the  
commission for a total of eight years. At the end of June, her boss, Michelle  
Bronson, will be leaving DHHSC after 16 years as the executive director. It  
will definitely be a time of transition at DHHSC. As manager, she feels she  
needs to be available to provide guidance for the new person. She has a  
person in mind that would be great to serve on the DAC Commission as her  
replacement.  
Board Member Villarreal thanked Board Member Coulter for her service and  
support she brought to the commission. He also stated that his organization  
"Valley Center for the Blind" has been impacted by the recent Federal  
government budget cuts. A total of 12 employees have been affected.  
Vice Chair Reyes Acosta stated that she has someone in mind that could  
apply for the executive director position for DHHSC. She also stated there  
have been updates to technology for the disabled community. For example  
internet access, tablets, etc.  
5. DAC SECRETARY AND ADA COORDINATOR REPORT  
DAC Secretary Diane Longoria thanked Board Member Coulter for her years  
of service with the DAC Commission. "It's been a pleasure working with  
her." She will be missed!  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa also expressed his gratitude and her giving  
spirit to her cause in supporting her community. He thanked her for her  
dedication and support on the commission.  
6. UNSCHEDULED COMMUNICATION / PUBLIC COMMENTS  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa read comments in the Zoom chat from Yonas  
Paulos, Homeless Veterans Advocate.  
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons desiring to address the  
subcommittee on matters not on this agenda. Your presentations are limited to three  
minutes per person. Please be aware that the subcommittee is generally legally  
prohibited from taking any action on information presented in unscheduled  
communication until subsequent meetings.  
7. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEM  
Update on DAC Mission Statement/Goals  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa will resend the link to the group so they can  
add/edit the document. Track changes will be enabled. Board member  
Villareal will review and make some edits to the document using track  
changes so the commission can see what edits were made.  
Update on DAC Awards  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa will work with the DAC Awards Taskforce this  
week to come up with a timeline and ideas. He will email a summary to the  
DAC commission for review and comment.  
Appointing Sean Zweifler to the DAC  
Transportation Subcommittee  
ADA Coordinator Joe Hinojosa stated that Sean Zweifler attended a couple  
of the DAC Transportation Sub-committee meetings in the past. He currently  
serves on the Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC).  
The purpose of ATAC is to advise and recommend policies for the planning,  
development and maintenance of active transportation systems for safe and  
enjoyable circulation for both utilitarian commuting travel and recreations  
within the City.  
Sean Zweifler has shown interest in joining the DAC Transportation  
Sub-committee. The DAC Commission made a motion to appoint him to the  
DAC Transportation Sub-committee.  
Upon call no public comments were received.  
On motion of Chair Derrick, seconded by Vice Chair Reyes Acosta, the  
above Action Item was APPROVED. The motion carried by the  
following vote:  
Aye: 4 - Coulter, Vice Chair Reyes Acosta, Chair Derrick and  
Villarreal  
Excused: 1 - Dhillon
