The Women's Commission met in regular session on the 2nd Floor, Room 2120, Meeting  
Room C, at Fresno City Hall on the date and time above written.

Chairman Ward called the meeting to order at 12:08 PM.

Update on the Women’s History Month Proclamation

Council Assistant Gallardo reported a successful proclamation event with  
Council. The Girl Scouts attended, were given a tour of City Hall, and the  
Evangel Home sent a thank-you card.

Member Updates:  
CHAIR WARD UPDATE: Expressed appreciation for the Women’s History  
Month proclamation, reflected on the event, and acknowledged support from  
Evangel Home staff. Highlighted the hygiene product distribution program,  
and the importance of showcasing the hygiene initiative.  
VICE CHAIR VILLA UPDATE: Echoed appreciation for the event and the  
collective effort from the Commission.  
MEMBER ADAMS UPDATE: Echoed appreciation for the event and the  
collective effort from the Commission.

Action Items:  
Public Comment - Members of the public may address the Commission  
regarding items that are not listed on the agenda but within the subject matter  
jurisdiction of the Commission. Each person is limited to a three (3) minute  
presentation. Anyone wishing to be placed on an agenda for a specified topic should  
contact the City Clerk at least seven (7) days prior to the desired date. Commission  
action on unscheduled items, if any, shall be limited to referring the item to a future  
meeting.  
Upon call, the following members of the public addressed the Commission  
with unscheduled communication: Dojahnae Senegal, and Destinee  
Carraway.

Upcoming Events in 2025

Commission discussion on this item included: Senior Community Outreach  
Event planned for Fall 2025 by Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula. Past Black  
Wellness and Prosperity Center event, noting it was well-organized with  
health resources, meals, and educational outreach. Free public event on  
climate impacts affecting Hispanic women. Project First Step event  
supporting legal representation for domestic violence survivors. Woman’s  
equality day.
