EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

 

On March 30, 2023, the City Council approved Development Permit Application No. P22-00565 for authorizing the construction of a ±206,881 square-foot warehouse facility.  Subsequent to the approval the project proponent entered into a separate agreement to contribute $300,000 into a community benefits fund for the purpose of impact mitigation.  The funds are directed to be held and distributed under the Community Benefits Fund program guidelines as adopted by the City Council on February 9, 2023.

 

Action by City Council will allow the City to accept and distribute the $300,000 related to Development Permit P22-00565.

 

BACKGROUND

 

On October 8, 2022, the Fresno Planning and Development Director approved entitlements for the Project, including without limitation the adoption of an Environmental Assessment and the approval of a Development permit P22-00565.  The action was appealed to the Planning Commission which upheld the Director’s decision on February 1, 2023.  The action was appealed to the City Council.

This approval is not a project for the purposes of CEQA Guidelines Section 15378.

Funding source is solely from the developer deposit established in the settlement agreement and does not impact the General Fund.
