Title
Actions pertaining to the Knight Avenue Improvements Project between Jensen Avenue and Grove Avenue (Bid File No. 12500187) (Council District 3):
1. Adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301/Class 1 (Existing Facilities) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines;
2. Award a construction contract in the amount of $567,905 to Avison Construction, Inc. of Madera, California.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council (1) adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301/Class 1 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, and (2) award a construction contract to Avison Construction, Inc. of Madera, California in the amount of $567,905, as the lowest responsive bidder, for Knight Avenue Improvements Project between Jensen Avenue and Grove Avenue and authorize the Capital Projects Director or designee to sign the construction contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City of Fresno seeks to award a construction contract for the construction of the Knight Avenue Improvements Project between Jensen Avenue and Grove Avenue. This project will widen Knight Avenue by reconstructing the eastern portion of the street to include curb, gutter and sidewalk. These improvements will tie into future roadway improvements and development around the area. The subject construction contract award will be funded using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.
