RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that City Council approve a five-year Maintenance Service Agreement with Rexel USA, Inc. (Service Provider), for an amount not to exceed $242,500.00 to provide remote maintenance and support services for Rockwell Automation control systems (Project) for the Department of Public Utilities - Wastewater Management Division (WMD); affirm the City Manager's determination that the Service Provider is uniquely qualified; and authorize the City Manager, or designee, to sign the agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno (City).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Process control software and hardware for wastewater treatment facilities can be provided by different manufacturers, and there is currently no standard for the wastewater treatment industry. Each manufacturer's control systems offer different functionalities that may not be available in others, and the different systems are generally not compatible with different manufacturers. WMD implemented a consistent process control system at both wastewater treatment plants, selecting Rockwell software and hardware over 20 years ago as the standard.
