Actions pertaining to the traffic signal installation at the intersection of Shields and Sunnyside Avenues - Project Bid File No. 3346 (Council District 4)
1. Adopt finding of a Categorical Exemption pursuant to Class 1 Section 15301(c) (existing facilities) of the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines for the traffic signal installation at the intersection of Shields and Sunnyside Avenues
2. Award a construction contract to Kertel Communications, Inc. dba Sebastian of Fresno, California in the amount of $310,470 for the traffic signal installation at the intersection of Shields and Sunnyside Avenues

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a finding of Class 1 Categorical Exemption, pursuant to Section 15301(c) of the CEQA Guidelines, and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign the contract on the City's behalf and award a construction contract in the amount of $310,470 to Kertel Communications, Inc. dba Sebastian of Fresno, California, as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the Traffic Signal Installation at the intersection of Shields and Sunnyside Avenues.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The proposed traffic signal installation project at the intersection of Shields and Sunnyside Avenues will provide a significant improvement for efficient vehicle movement through the intersection.
