RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the 6th amendment to the AAR No. 2025-179 appropriating $1,000,000 to the OneFresno Youth Service Corps Program for CaliforniansForAll Youth Services Corps Homelessness Pilot Grant.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The OneFresno Youth Jobs Corps Program was notified on June 2, 2025, of an award of $1,000,000 from the #CaliforniansForAll Youth Service Corps. The City of Fresno ("City") has operated the One Fresno Youth Jobs Corps Program since the Spring of 2022 and is now looking to begin a new step in the program called "Navigators". The Youth Service Corps Homelessness Pilot program aims to assist with addressing the homeless crisis in California and here in the City of Fresno. The City will select Community Based Organizations through the RFP process who are experienced in outreach and have the required certifications, training and expertise to administer this programming that will provide work opportunities for youth.
BACKGROUND
The #CaliforniansForAll Youth Service Corps is a Governor's initiative administered by California Volunteers in partnership with cities across California. The City has operated the OneFresno Youth Jobs Corps Program since the Spring of 2022. The program recruits, trains, mentors, and hires participants for jobs to prepare them for future career opportunities.
