Approve an agreement with KIS Computer Center to purchase two Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems for the City Hall Data Center, in the amount of $549,889.28; the Information Services Department (ISD) will utilize competitively bid California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) contract #3-18-70-2443Q to complete this purchase; and authorize the Chief Information Officer or designee to execute the agreement.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council authorize the Chief Information Officer to enter into an agreement with KIS Computer Center to purchase two replacement UPS systems for the City Hall Data Center, in the amount of $549,889.28. ISD will be using the CMAS contract #3-18-70-2443Q to complete this purchase.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Information Services Department (ISD) maintains and secures the City Hall Data Center including the UPS systems. The UPS system is critical to provide power protection and assure continuous power delivery to the data center when power disruptions occur. The total purchase, along with five years of maintenance and support, amounts to $549,889.28.
BACKGROUND
One of ISD's core duties is to provide protection for the city's information technology systems. In pursuit of that, ISD maintains the data center at City Hall that contains critical operational technologies. In order to ensure near continuous operation of the data center, ISD had previously implemented an enterprise-grade, redundant UPS system. That system is approaching the end of its service life and requires replacement. The new system is engineered to provide the same level of reliability and performance as the one it replaces.
