RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution of the Council of the City of Fresno adopting the 10th amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) No. 2015-104 appropriating $418,000 for City salaries, contractor costs and miscellaneous expenses related to completion of projects for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2011 Lead-Based Hazard Control Grant Program (Attachment 1).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On May 26, 2011, City Council approved Resolution 2011-97 authorizing the submittal of the application for, and the subsequent acceptance of, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2011 Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Program (LBP) in the amount of $2,475,000. The LBP is designed to target lead hazard control efforts in housing where children under six years of age are at the greatest risk of lead-based poisoning. The three year grant was awarded through the City's Development and Resource Management Department (DARM) for the period November 1, 2011, through October 31, 2014. DARM's Housing Division received a nine month extension from HUD through August 14, 2015. The Division has obligated funds for the respective homeowner projects per HUD's extension requirements.
