RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends City Council approve the First Amendment to the Consultant Services Agreement with RossDrulisCusenbery Architecture, Inc., (Consultant) in the amount of $2,951,601, increasing the total contract amount to $3,875,201, with a remaining contingency of $25,000, for the Fresno Fire Department Regional Training Center and authorize the Capital Projects Director or designee to execute the First Amendment on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The City and Consultant have completed program verification and schematic design documents, including probable construction cost estimates for the Fresno Fire Department Regional Training Center, which was originally planned to be located adjacent to the City of Fresno Police Department Regional Training Center. Due to high estimated construction costs exceeding available project funding, it was determined that a new project site would be required and the Fresno Fire Department identified the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) First Responders Center Campus as a potential solution.
