Actions pertaining to Design of a Water Main Gap Closure in Armstrong Avenue (Council District 4 and Fresno County):
1. Approve professional consultant services agreement with Carollo Engineers, Inc., for an amount not to exceed $144,800 for the Design of the Armstrong Avenue Water Main Project
2. Authorize the Director of Public Utilities, or designee, to sign all documents on behalf of the City of Fresno

RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends that the City Council approve a consultant services agreement with Carollo Engineers, Inc., (Carollo) for the design of the Armstrong Avenue Water Main Project for an amount not to exceed $144,800; and authorize the Director of Public Utilities or designee to sign the contract on behalf of the City of Fresno (City).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Department of Public Utilities, Water Division, has identified the Armstrong Avenue Water Main Project as an area in need of a water main installation to satisfy water demands by providing sufficient water capacity to the area. Staff recommends the Council award a consultant services agreement to Carollo for the design of the transmission grid water main. Funding for this contract is included in the FY17 adopted budget.
BACKGROUND
The Department of Public Utilities, Water Division, has identified that a portion of the existing water system along North Armstrong Avenue lacks water mains to provide sufficient capacity to meet the areas water demand.
