RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve Contract Change Order No. 1 with Cal Valley Construction, of Fresno, California which increases the contract amount by $136,415.00, for a revised contract total of $5,859,614.00, for work required outside of the original scope on Cesar Chavez Blvd but deemed necessary to avoid cutting into a newly paved roadway, and authorize the Capital Projects Department Director, or designee, to sign this Contract Change Order No. 1 on behalf of the City of Fresno.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On August 28, 2025, a contract was awarded in the amount of $5,723,199.00 with Cal Valley Construction, of Fresno, California to rehabilitate the pavement in seven (7) separate project areas, which include segments of Shields Avenue, Shaw Avenue, a portion of the McKinley-Palm-Olive-Fruit neighborhood, McKinley Avenue, Cesar Chavez Boulevard, First Street, and portions of Los Angeles, Cherry and Fulton Street near Downtown Fresno. Restorative pavement work will include grind and overlay of the asphaltic concrete roadway to extend the service life of the pavement.
