RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Council approve an agreement in the amount of $202,000, plus $25,000 for contingencies, with Fehr & Peers for the preparation of the City of Fresno Active Transportation Plan including the Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Master Plan Update (ATP/BMP), and authorize the Public Works Director or his designee to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This agreement with Fehr & Peers will prepare the ATP/BMP throughout the metropolitan area of Fresno. This document will assist the City in competing for the State Active Transportation Program Grants and will meet the requirements of Measure "C" by updating the Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trails Master Plan. The document will build upon significant planning efforts of the past few years such as the 2035 General Plan, Fresno Downtown Plans, Bus Rapid Transit, Development Code Update and the recently started Southwest Fresno Specific Plan. The ATP consultant team will coordinate closely with the City's Parks Master Plan Update, conduct a significant community engagement effort and also collaborate with the City to form a Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC).
