Approve acceptance of donated funds from the Fresno Police Chief's Foundation, in the total amount of $33,500 to secure five (5) additional Automated License Plate Readers subscriptions for two years from Flock Safety.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that Council accept the one-time donated funds from Fresno Police Chief's Foundation to secure five (5) additional Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) subscriptions for two years from Flock Safety in the total amount of $33,500. If approved, it is recommended that Council authorize the City Manager or her designee to enter into a first amendment to agreement with Flock Safety to add the five (5) additional ALPR subscriptions for the period of two (2) years.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Fresno Police Department is seeking approval to accept the total amount of $33,500 from the Fresno Police Chief's Foundation to secure five (5) additional ALPR subscriptions for two years from Flock Safety, a service provider that Fresno Police Department already utilizes. The Macerich Corporation donated funds to the Police Chief's Foundation to place 5 ALPRs in areas affected by organized retail theft. All donations over $25,000 must be accepted by City Council, and any department receiving donations must furnish the City Controller a report showing such donation within the first four weeks of July annually per Fresno Municipal Code 7-105.
BACKGROUND
Flock Safety ALPR have proven to be incredibly helpful in significant investigations, such as homicides, shootings, and organized retail theft.
