Body
RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that Council adopt the 53rd Amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) No. 2025-179 to appropriate $85,000 for costs associated with the June 2026 FUSD Summer Swim contract to the PARCS Department.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Staff in the PARCS Department are seeking approval to appropriate $85,000 into the PARCS Department's fiscal year (FY) 2026 budget to reimburse expenses incurred by PARCS for June 2026 Aquatics programming. The funding comes from FUSD.

BACKGROUND

On December 18, 2025, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2025-358 authorizing the City Manager or designee to apply for and accept up to $500,000 from FUSD to fund Blue Space Aquatics programming at FUSD high schools and City of Fresno pool locations in Summer 2026.

In February 2026 FUSD announced its intent to award the City two contracts totaling $399,700 for Summer 2026 Aquatics programming, including a contract totaling $85,000 for June 2026 programming. Approval of this item will appropriate $85,000 for costs associated with June 2026 Aquatics programming.

The City Attorney's Office has reviewed this item, and the Finance Department has approved the 53rd Amendment to the AAR No. 2025-179 as to form.
