***RESOLUTION - Declaration of Results of the Consolidated General Election held within the City of Fresno on November 6, 2018

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City council adopt the attached Resolution declaring the results of the November 6, 2018 General Election.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On December _______, 2018, the City Clerk's Office received from the County Clerk a certified abstract of the canvass of the results of the General Election held on November 6, 2018. Under California Elections Code 10263(b), the City Council must now declare the results of the election. An appropriate resolution has been prepared and is being presented for adoption.
BACKGROUND
The results of the General Election held on November 6, 2018, are as follows: (1) Miguel Arias received the majority of votes cast within District 3; (2) Luis Chavez received the majority of votes cast within District 5; (3) Nelson Esparza received the majority of votes cast within District 7; (4) Measure A, regarding a new Cannabis Business License received 70% of the votes cast citywide; (5) Measure O, regarding technical charter cleanup , received 49.47% of the votes cast citywide, and (6) Measure P, regarding a proposed Fresno Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Tax Ordinance, received 52.18% of the vote cast citywide; and (7) Measure Q, regarding a balanced budget amendment to the Charter, received 80.45% of the votes cast citywide.
All of the Councilmembers-Elect will begin serving their term as Councilmembers of the City of Fresno upon administration of the Oath of Office currently scheduled for January 10, 2019.
ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS
This resolution is not a project for purposes of the California Environment Quality Act.
