Authorize the Chief of Police to enter into a 3-year with one (1) two-year extension agreement with Central Unified School District (CUSD) to provide six (6) police officers (Student Resource Officer) at .95 FTE each, one (1) sergeant at .20 FTE, seven (7) patrol vehicles and administrative fees totaling $3,596,382 for three years ($1,198,794 annually) to be housed at the high schools, alternative education high school, and middle schools.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council authorize and approve an agreement with CUSD for three years with one two-year extension to provide funding for six (6) .95 FTE SROs and one (1) .20 FTE sergeant at two CUSD high schools, an alternative education high school, and three middle schools, and seven (7) patrol vehicles and administrative fees totaling $3,596,382 for three years ($1,198,794 annually) and authorize the Chief of Police, or designee, to sign the agreement and all related documents on behalf of the City of Fresno.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Council approval is being sought to authorize the City of Fresno Chief of Police, or designee, to execute an agreement with CUSD allowing for the police department to obtain reimbursement for six (6) officers and one (1) sergeant assigned to CUSD high school and middle school sites as SROs. The terms of the contract reimburse 95% of the six (6) SRO officers and 20% of the one (1) SRO sergeant. Assigned vehicles for these seven (7) positions are reimbursed at 100%. The total amount to be reimbursed by Central Unified School District would be $1,198,794 annually.
The schools covered by this agreement include Central High East, Pershing Pathway, El Capitan, Rio Vista, Glacier Point and Justin Garza High School.
