Staff recommends the City Council adopt the 18th Amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution No. 2026-159 to appropriate $14,488,900 for previously approved Pave More Now capital projects in the Public Works Department.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Staff recommends the Council adopt a resolution approving the rebudget of funding for previously approved Pave More Now capital projects so that the appropriations in FY 2027 are sufficient to cover anticipated expenditures. The recommended resolution will appropriate $14,488,900 in funding to the current fiscal budget year. The recommended appropriations do not include any General Fund.
BACKGROUND
Annually, the Department reviews its capital project appropriations and recommends adjustments to complete anticipated construction during the year. This review ensures that adequate appropriations are in place to complete the programs and projects given the most recent information.
On June 18, 2026, the Council awarded a construction contract in the amount of $14,488,896.79 for Pave More Now Bid Package “B-2”. It had been anticipated that the funding required for Bid Package “B-2” would be encumbered during FY2026 using FY2026 appropriations. Because the contract was not executed until FY2027, these appropriations need to be rebudgeted in the new fiscal year.
