RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the 34th Amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution No. 2023-185 to appropriate $632,400 for new capital improvement projects in the Public Works Department.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

There are several new capital improvement projects staff are preparing to implement which are funded from Federal grants, State grants, and other local sources. The grant funded projects were awarded Measure C Transit Oriented Development (TOD) funds through the Fresno Council of Governments, State funds through the Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Federal transportation funds through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) administered by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Several projects are funded through the Measure "C" Regional Transportation Program. Staff recommends City Council adopt the amendment to the AAR in order to provide appropriations in the Public Works FY2024 Capital Budget to sufficiently cover anticipated expenditures for the cost of these new projects.

BACKGROUND

Staff is seeking Council approval on the attached AAR amendment which will appropriate funding for 10 new capital projects. The projects are funded via a combination of Federal funding, State funding, and other local funding with $632,400 of appropriations being requested for current FY2024 expenditures.
