RECOMMENDATION

 

Staff recommends the City Council adopt the Bill amending Subsections (a) and (b) of Section 2-1105 of the Fresno Municipal Code to reflect the current contribution limits.

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

 

Fresno Municipal Code Section 2-1105 currently shows the contribution limits of $4,200 per person and $8,500 for a small contributor committee per election. As of January 2017, the new contribution limits were increased to $4,400 and $8,800 per person and small contributor committee, respectively.  These new limits need to be reflected in the Fresno Municipal Code.

 

BACKGROUND

 

Pursuant to Fresno Municipal Code Section 2-1105(c) the contribution limitations set fourth shall be adjusted in January of every odd-numbered year to reflect an increase or decrease in CPI.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS

 

Environmental findings are not applicable as this Bill only concerns campaign reporting requirements.
