RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption per staff determination, pursuant to Class 1 Section 15301(c) of the CEQA Guidelines and award a contract to Dave Christian Construction, Inc. of Fresno, California for the Herndon Avenue Overlay from Blackstone Avenue to West Avenue and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign and execute the standardized contract on behalf of the City.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The City of Fresno seeks to rehabilitate Herndon Avenue between Blackstone Avenue and West Avenue. The project will consist of asphalt grinding, asphalt overlay, replacing traffic signal loop detectors, signage, striping and construction of pedestrian curb ramps. Staff recommends Council award a construction contract to Dave Christian Construction Company Inc. of Fresno, California in the amount of $1,124,186 as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the Herndon Avenue Overlay Project from Blackstone...
