RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that City Council:

1. Approve the Third Amendment to the Professional Engineering Consultant Services Agreement with Carollo Engineers, Inc., increasing the fee amount by $18,170 for a Total Fee amount of $9,445,637, and reduce the contingency amount to $545,363, for additional professional design services.

2. Authorize the Director of Public Utilities, or designee, to sign the Amendment on behalf of the City of Fresno.


EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This Third Amendment to the professional engineering contract with Carollo Engineers, Inc., for the design of the City of Fresno's (City's) 80-million gallon per day (80 MGD) Southeast Surface Water Treatment Facility (SESWTF) provides services for minor water line infrastructure modifications that include agency coordination, surveying and design required to complete the construction documents. These additional services will be funded using a portion of the Project's Design Contingency Fund, leaving a remaining contingency balance of $545,363 for the project.
