RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council adopt the 22nd Amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution 2025-179 to appropriate an additional $5,600 for the Local Immigrant Integration and Inclusion Grant (LIIIG) in Fiscal Year 2026.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On July 28, 2023, the City of Fresno Economic Development Department, in partnership with Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC), applied for an LIIIG from the State of California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development International Affairs and Trade Unit (IATU). On October 12, 2023, the City received the official grant agreement from IATU. The amount awarded was $380,650 over two years and serves to accentuate the entrepreneur pipeline and strengthen digital literacy within the immigrant population. The term of the agreement was scheduled to end on November 30, 2025. On November 16, 2023, Council authorized the acceptance of this funding and all related actions for the grant.

On April 24, 2025, IATU notified the City and CVIIC of the availability of an additional $45,000, bringing the total grant amount to $425,650, and an extension of the agreement term through January 31, 2026. On May 22, 2025, Council authorized the City Manager to accept the additional $45,000 in funding and an extension of time for the Local Immigrant Integration and Inclusion Grant (LIIIG) and execute all related documents and approve the first amendment to the service agreement between the ...
