RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council award a three-year Janitorial Services Contract to Commercial Cleaning Systems for $193,889.16 for operations at the Fresno Clovis Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility and authorize the Director of Public Utilities, or designee, to sign the contract on behalf of the City.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Department of Public Utilities, Wastewater Management Division is seeking janitorial services for the Fresno Clovis Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility (Facility). Five bids were received and reviewed by the Evaluation Committee. The bid by Commercial Cleaning Systems, in the amount of $64,629.72 per year, was found to offer the best value to the City.
BACKGROUND
The Facility is a 24-hours per day, 7 days per week operation reclaiming wastewater for beneficial use for the City of Fresno and the surrounding areas. There are about 185 employees at this location requiring the offices, cubicles, lunch rooms, work stations and restrooms to be cleaned and maintained on a regular schedule. The total area to be cleaned is approximately 68,200 square feet.
The advertisement date of this project in a Business Journal was June 14, 2016. There were 21 sets of specifications sent to prospective bidders and the Facility received five proposals. Proposals were opened November 8, 2016, and expired within 120 days of opening on March 8, 2017. An exten...
