RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve and adopt the 16th amendment to AAR No. 2024-122 allocating $296,000 in funds from the State of California's OTS into the PARCS Department's Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget to be used for Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety programming.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The PARCS Department has been awarded a Grant Award from OTS totaling $296,000 to provide bicycle and pedestrian safety programming during the grant term starting October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025. Staff is seeking Council approval to appropriate the full grant award of $296,000 into the PARCS Department FY25 budget. Grant funds not expended in FY25 will be carried over to the FY26 budget.
BACKGROUND
On January 11, 2024, Council approved Resolution No. 2024-001 authorizing staff to apply for a grant of up to $300,000 from OTS to fund bicycle and pedestrian safety programming, to accept grant funding if awarded, and to authorize the City Manager or designee to execute related documents.
