RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommend the Council approve Amendment One to the ordering document of the Software License and Services Agreements, dated June 24, 1998, and March 24, 1999, with Oracle, Inc., to remove license expansion fees for historical archive use of PeopleSoft financials. The modifications remove further license expansion fees for PeopleSoft financials if it is used as an historical archive. Staff request that Council allow the City Manager or designee to enter into the agreement.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The City of Fresno is using PeopleSoft financials as an archive of financial information since the migration to Tyler Munis financials. Modifications to the Software License and Services Agreement, dated June 24, 1998, and March 24, 1999, with Oracle, will allow the City to use PeopleSoft financials as a historical archive without incurring further license expansion fees.

BACKGROUND

The City has used PeopleSoft for several years with the original Software License and Services Agreement, dated June 24, 1998, and March 24, 1999, with Oracle. That agreement included license expansion fees of $180,335 per each $100 Million of increase in the City's annual budget.
