RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an agreement for professional engineering services with Toole Design Group for $100,691 with a $10,000 contingency for the preparation of the Travel by Trail, Fresno! Trail Network Wayfinding Plan and authorize the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Fresno (City).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project will create a comprehensive wayfinding plan to ensure trail segments converge into a well-connected route, address navigation challenges, identify navigational tools for users, identify digital wayfinding needs, and develop promotional material. The primary objectives are to help residents overcome first-mile and last-mile challenges, maximizing multimodal connections between trail and transit, encourage residents to walk or roll through promotional materials, and include a diverse group of stakeholders in the planning process. The project is funded through the Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant Program administered through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The subject consultant agreement in the amount of $100,691 with a $10,000 contingency will facilitate development of the wayfinding plan necessary to complete the project.
