Staff recommends the Council confirm the Mayor's appointments.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Fresno/Clovis Community Media Authority has five members with one expired term and one vacancy which occurred in August 2022. The Mayor's Office requests confirmation of the reappointment of Gerald Lee.

The Civil Service Board has five members with two expired terms, and one recent vacancy which occurred in October 2022. The Mayor's Office requests confirmation of the reappointment of Michael McDonald.

The Historic Preservation Commission has seven members. Since June 2022, two positions have been vacant. City residency is mandatory for five out of the seven members, with an allowance for two positions to be held based on expertise in fields related to historic preservation or lay people with special skills or experience in this field. Currently, four of the existing five members are residents of Fresno, one in District 1, one in District 2, and two in District 3. Recruitment outreach was done in cooperation with the Planning Department, community-based organizations and the Office of Community Affairs. The Mayor's Office requests confirmation of the appointments of Julie Federico (District 6) and Elizabeth Laval (District 6 + Expertise).
