Title
Actions pertaining to Maxie L Parks Community Center (Council District 3)
1. Adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption pursuant to section 15306 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
2. Approve Third Amendment to Agreement with Kleinfelder, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $126,000 for professional geotechnical engineering/environmental services for a site investigation at Maxie L Parks Community Center
3. Establish a contingency fund of $200,000 for future additional mandates.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council adopt a finding of Categorical Exemption pursuant to section 15306 of CEQA; approve the Third Amendment to the Consultant Services Agreement with Kleinfelder Inc. in an amount not to exceed $126,000 for professional geotechnical engineering/environmental services; and that council establish a contingency fund of $200,000 for future additional mandates.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Prompted by improvements at the adjacent property, the Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services Department (PARCS) received notification by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) to implement testing of the groundwater and soil at the Maxie L Parks site. Initial work began early 2020 with subsequent testing concluding in May 2020. Additional recommendations from findings have been identified by CRWQCB. Council approval is requested to approve additional services of Kleinfelder and appropriate additional funds to cover associated costs with implementing the additional scope of work.
