RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council approve the award of a service contract to REMIX Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Via Transportation, Inc. of New York, NY, for cloud-based transit planning software for a total not to exceed $197,000 over five years plus two optional one-year extensions.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Department of Transportation, Fresno Area Express (FAX) provides transit service for the city of Fresno. FAX depends upon transit planning software to refine current routes, plan for future routes, and conduct analysis required by the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) of all proposed route changes. The proposed contract is structured as a five-year contract, with two optional one-year extensions.

BACKGROUND

FAX is responsible for providing transit service in the city of Fresno. FAX relies on outside Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for transit route sketch planning; demographic impact analysis of proposed routes in relation to minority populations, total population, poverty, seniors, youth, people with disabilities, and limited-English households; analysis and modification of transit routes and transit route scenarios; Title VI Service Equity Analysis; and mapping for public outreach efforts.

This contract would be issued in the amount of $27,500 per year for the first five years, and $29,000 for the first optional one-year extension and $30,500 for the final extension year, for a total not to exceed $197,000 over fi...
