RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends City Council approve the Second Amendment to the Consultant Services Agreement with The Taylor Group Architects in the amount of $132,500, increasing the total contract amount to $1,107,500, with a remaining contingency of $70,000, for the New Fire Station 12 and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to execute the Second Amendment on behalf of the City of Fresno.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City and Consultant have completed Part Two: Design Development documents, including probable construction cost estimates for the new Fresno Fire Department (FFD) Fire Station 12. As industry construction costs have continued to rise, this has resulted in the need for a value engineering effort to reduce the project cost where possible. The City and Consultant worked through a value engineering exercise in an effort to reduce the construction costs. The proposed amendment covers the cost to incorporate some of the value engineering items and to make updates to the four pull-through apparatus bays.
