RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended Council approve the 25th Amendment of the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) 2024-122 establishing appropriations in the amount of $57,000 for FY 2025 in accordance with the joint reimbursable training program contract between the Fresno City Fire Department and Fresno City College.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Fresno Fire Department (FFD) has been part of a state-sponsored, joint training program with Fresno City College since 2016.
Under the program FFD receives a monetary reimbursement for each hour of training logged by its members. The revenues provide for equipment, facilities, training materials and other services that are reinvested back into the joint program to conduct fire service training to the benefit of both the Fresno Fire Department and Fresno City College.
BACKGROUND
On May 1, 2024 (ID 24-264), the City of Fresno entered a five (5) year Instructional Services Agreement with Fresno City College. Under the terms of the contract, the Fresno Fire Department provides certain training facilities, expert instructors, and assists the college in ensuring training standards are met for student participants. Though these training agreements are renewed every two to five years, the program has been in place for the past ten plus years and has been invaluable to the Fire Department and Fresno City College.
