RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council adopt the 21st Amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) No. 2025-179 to appropriate $500,000 for costs associated with the YCA grant to the PARCS Department.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Staff in the PARCS Department are seeking approval to appropriate the YCA grant award into the PARCS Department's FY26 budget. The grant award will be used to provide a nature experience at Camp Fresno for 250 youth.
BACKGROUND
On August 14, 2025, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2025-226 authorizing the City Manager or designee to accept a grant of up to $500,000 from the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) to fund Camp Fresno youth programming. On September 19, 2025, the City was awarded $500,000 from CNRA to provide a nature experience at Camp Fresno for 250 youth during the summer of 2026. The grant term is anticipated to be from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
Approval of this item will appropriate $500,000 in YCA grant funding into the PARCS Department's FY26 budget to be used for grant-funded programming. The Finance Department has approved the 21st Amendment to the AAR No. 2025-179 as to form.
