RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve a consultant agreement with BKF Engineers, in the amount of $60,170, with a contingency amount of $10,000 (total not to exceed $70,170), to provide construction plans and general specifications for Shields Avenue Bankside Trail From Fresno Street to First Street and to authorize the Public Works Director or designee to sign and execute the standardized agreement on behalf of the City.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City of Fresno Public Works Department received Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Lifeline and Measure "C" Trails funding to construct a Class I multipurpose trail along the south side of Shields Avenue from Fresno Street to First Street. This consultant agreement allows the City to retain the design services of BKF Engineers, to prepare necessary construction plans and bid specifications along with engineering support services during the bidding and construction phases of the project. The project will include the construction of the asphalt multi-purpose trail, concrete curb and gutter, lighting, tree planting and irrigation along the Shields Avenue frontage.
