RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council award a product purchase contract with JAM Services, Inc. in the amount of $708,732.52 as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the Chinatown Project 1 & 6 Streetlights and authorize the Purchasing Manager of the General Services Department or designee to sign the product purchase contract on behalf of the City of Fresno.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As part of the approved Master Grant Agreement for the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) grant program with the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) for development and implementation of greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects in the amount of $65,500,000, the City of Fresno Public Works Department is implementing the Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure (Project 1) and Chinatown Urban Greening (Project 6) projects. The projects will bring improvements to paved pedestrian facilities in Chinatown by installing streetlights, planting trees, reconstructing curb ramps, filling in sidewalk gaps and reconstructing China Alley. These improvements will be constructed along F Street, Mariposa Street, Kern Street and China Alley. Material shortages and supply chain delays are of the most significant factors leading to delay in construction project delivery.
