RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council approve the First Amendment to the Consultant Agreement with Borrelli and Associates, Inc. expanding services by $24,300 to revise the emergency back-up generation system for a total revised contract amount of $214,100 for the Municipal Service Center (MSC) Electrical Infrastructure and Rehab project and authorize the General Servies Director or designee to execute all related documents.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On July 23, 2023, Council approved a construction contract with A-C Electric Company to implement the Municipal Service Center (MSC) Electrical Infrastructure and Rehab project. A major component of the project is replacement of the MSC campus generator. The Contractor is proposing a substitute generator manufacturer as the specified manufacturer cannot meet the technical requirements in the construction specifications. Whereas the proposed substitute will meet the construction specifications. The City has accepted the proposed substitution which will require the Engineer of Record, Borelli and Associates, to redesign the electrical plans and resubmit to the City for permit approval.
