RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached resolution to appropriate $146,100 in grant funds from the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, the State of California Department of Transportation, and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District for various PARCS projects.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

PARCS was awarded grants for various park projects that require appropriation of funds in FY2016 totaling $146,100. This includes $52,100 from the State of California Department of Parks and
Recreation for Martin Ray Reilly Park, $50,400 from the State of California Department of
Transportation Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program for Romain Playground Park, and $43,600 from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) Public Benefit Grant program for the purchase of electric utility vehicles for the PARCS Department.

BACKGROUND

The City of Fresno PARCS Department was awarded grants that require the appropriation of funds in the FY2016 budget in order to complete the projects and purchase equipment. The projects include the following:
