EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The drafts of the Downtown Neighborhoods Community Plan, Fulton Corridor Specific Plan, Downtown Development Code, and Draft Environmental Impact Report were released on July 27 for public review and comment. The two plans contain an ambitious vision and broad list of policies and projects that have been designed to revitalize the heart of the city. The Downtown Development Code is designed to attract growth to Downtown and shape it in ways that make Downtown an attractive, comfortable, and dynamic urban center as envisioned by the plans. It is a proposed amendment to the Citywide Development Code which would represent the final step in the modernization of Fresno’s land use regulations. At this workshop staff will provide an update on the documents, the proposed timeline for adoption, and will describe what has and hasn’t change in the documents since earlier versions of them were released for review and comment in 2012.
