Title
Approve the renewal of the Oracle Public Sector Technical Support Services Agreement for $303,285.75 per year and authorize the Chief Information Officer to execute related documents.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council authorize the Chief Information Officer to sign the renewal of the Oracle Public Sector Technical Support Services Agreement (Agreement) and accompanying Ordering Document.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On February 20, 2004, the City of Fresno (City) entered into an agreement with Oracle America, Inc. (Oracle) for support services including technical support, patches, fixes and upgrade rights. These services cover database and related products that the City owns and uses including PeopleSoft, GIS as well as other departmental applications that are used by Fire, Police, Fleet, FAX, Risk and Airports. The support services agreements have three to five year terms and require renewal at the end of the agreement term. Annual support fees are appropriated in the FY17 Information Services Department (ISD) budget.
BACKGROUND
The City purchased Oracle database and related software in 2004 which requires vendor technical support as well as entitlement to patches, fixes and software updates. The Agreement has a history of three to five year terms and requires renewal of the Agreement at the end of the term. The database software covered by this Agreement includes City core services such as PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Human Resources, GIS and applications for Fire, Police, Fleet, FAX, Risk and Airports. The annual fees for the technical support services under this Agreement total $303,285.75. The annual fee may vary from year to year, however staff shall not renew the Agreement if the annual fee exceeds $355,000. The average annual increase has been 3% per year...
