RECOMMENDATION
PARCS Staff requests that Fresno City Council Approve the attached Cooperative purchasing agreement between the City of Fresno and Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, in conjunction with the National Joint Powers Alliance Agreement (NJPA) for the installation of LED field lighting at Melody Park (District 4).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On April 27, 2017, Council approved to award a contract with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, for the installation of LED lighting for the ball field at Melody Park. The attached Cooperative purchasing agreement allows the City of Fresno to "bridge" the NJPA Contract with the City of Fresno, thus allowing the City of Fresno to receive appropriate insurance and to indemnify the City of Fresno of any liability during the installation of the LED Lights at Melody Park.
BACKGROUND
On December 15, 2016, Council approved the appropriation of $300,000 to the PARCS Department to proceed with the Melody Park Ball Field Lighting Upgrade Project. This project will include the installation of two (2) new light poles, new LED fixtures for both the ball field and the tennis/basketball courts, as well as replace any damaged wiring and conduit. The fixtures will be more energy efficient and provide additional lighting to allow the ball field to be used as a dual usage field for both soccer and baseball.
