RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends approval of an agreement for Professional Engineering Services with Provost and Pritchard Consulting for $294,000 plus $15,000 for contingencies, for the design, bidding and construction support phases of the South Van Ness Industrial Area Roadway and Utilities Infrastructure Improvement Project, and to allow the Public Works Director, or designee, to sign the agreement on the City's behalf.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
To extend the life of the existing major streets through street surface restoration, the City of Fresno applied for U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) funds to fund professional engineering design, bidding and construction support services for the South Van Ness Industrial Area Roadway and Utilities Infrastructure Improvement Project.
BACKGROUND
The City of Fresno Public Works Department has identified a need for street surface restoration in the South Van Ness Industrial Area. The streets to be included are East California Avenue between South Cherry Avenue and South East Avenue, South East Avenue between East California Avenue and East Hamilton Avenue, East Hamilton Avenue between South Pearl Avenue and Fulton Street and South Pearl Avenue between East Butler Avenue and East Hamilton Avenue.
