EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The original resolution giving consent, Resolution No. 7585, entitled Resolution Requesting County Clerk to Render Services Related to Conduct of General and Special Municipal Elections, adopted by the Council on March 14, 1963, and amended by Resolution No. 8407, adopted by the Council on March 4, 1965, needed to be updated because processes, procedures and technology has changed since that time.
BACKGROUND
The Fresno County Elections Clerk has been conducting the elections for the City of Fresno since 1963. Since that time, processes, procedures and technology has changed. A new resolution has been drafted for Council’s approval in order to bring the resolution up to date to the processes, procedures and technology of today. The resolution has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office as well as the County Attorney’s Office. This resolution reflects our current procedures relating to the conduct of municipal elections.
