RESOLUTION - To authorize submittal of application(s) for all CalRecycle grants, and authorize the Development and Resource Management Department Director to sign on behalf of the City of Fresno.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing application for and acceptance of the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) Local Government Waste Tire Enforcement, Waste Tire Cleanup, and Waste Tire Amnesty Grant funds, and designating the Development and Resource Management Director or designee thereof to sign grant program documents on behalf of the City of Fresno (City) subsequent to Council appropriation of funds.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The grant guidelines require that cities submitting applications provide a resolution approved by their City Council, authorizing the submittal of the application and identifying the individual authorized to execute the grant agreement. It is therefore recommended that Council adopt the attached resolution to authorize submittal of application(s).

The Community Revitalization Division is proposing to apply for the Waste Tire Enforcement, Waste Tire Cleanup, and Waste Tire Amnesty Grants, sponsored by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). The Waste Tire Enforcement Grant will be used by the Community Revitalization Division to continue the Waste Tire Enforcement Program which monitors and regulates tire facilities in the Fresno city limits.
