BACKGROUND

On December 18, 2014, the City of Fresno adopted the Fresno General Plan which laid out a series of policies to prioritize and govern development of the City.  In ten resource area chapters, the document identifies objectives and policies to plan for orderly growth and development according to the Governor’s Office of Policy and Research (OPR) General Plan Guidelines.

The City certified a Master Environmental Impact Report (MEIR) which evaluated the impacts of potential development through the year 2035.  The MEIR is currently being updated to reflect the new California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines and provide for streamlined development approvals.
